It is not possible to grow and care for natural grass lawns or patches in many houses, due to the lack of time and necessary arrangements. These artificial grass patches do not require the usual care that is needed in case of the natural grass lawns.

Though the artificial grass plots do not need to be watered or mowed, like the natural grasses; the artificial grass mat also requires some regular maintenance, for the upkeep of its natural look.  

• Methods used for cleaning – The artificial grass patches should be first cleaned with a garden rake, broom or a brush with stiff bristles; to get rid of all the dust, dry leaves and other unwanted debris that may accumulate over these grasses regularly. Then, the sticky dirt can be removed from the grass blades, by spraying them abundantly with water.
• Frequency required for regular cleaning – Often people wonder about the duration of the intervals, after which the artificial grass mat needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Daily cleansing is never needed for these grasses and weekly maintenance is needed; only if the home is situated in a too dusty area and there are kids or pets at home, who can make the lawn dirtier. The homemakers do not need to wash the lawns with sprays of water, during the rainy season, as that job is done naturally by the downpours.
• Care need to be taken while cleaning – The blades of some of these artificial grasses may not be upright, due to the pressure of the people sitting over them or kids running over the grasses. These blades can be returned into their original condition, by using a brush with stiff bristles. But care should be taken to check that the bristles are not too stiff or made of steel, which can harm these artificial grasses. The grasses should be kept odor-free, by using hose spray occasionally, mainly over the areas that may be used for urination of the pets of the home.
